Dakota Spotlight: Call Me Shelly is a documentary film written by James Wolner and directed by Derek Fletcher, based on Season 7 of the true crime podcast Dakota Spotlight.
The film follows the decades-long search for answers in the 1994 disappearance of Michele “Shelly” Julson from Bismarck, North Dakota. Through new interviews, archival materials, and original reporting, the documentary revisits the case while examining new information and the lasting impact of an unresolved disappearance.
Join us on Friday, September 18th for a special screening of Dakota Spotlight: Call Me Shelly (46 mins) followed by a live discussion and audience Q&A with the filmmakers.
