THE CENTENNIAL CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

Did you know that the Fargo Theatre is a non-profit organization? Only with support from you can we repair, restore and improve our historic theatre and continue to bring arts and entertainment to our community. One of the most impactful ways we can generate support is through a capital campaign.

A capital campaign is a targeted fundraising effort to support a non-profit’s special projects such as major repairs. Most non-profits conduct a capital campaign every 10 to 15 years. The Fargo Theatre’s last capital campaign was 27 years ago.

Our new seats, carpet and paint are just the beginning! We have a lot more to do, and with a donation to our Centennial Capital Campaign, you can help us to:

• Replace miles (miles!) of corroding water pipes beneath the Theatre
• Modernize our 27 year old (!!!) sound, lighting and projection systems
• Refresh the historic concessions stand and lobby with fresh wallpaper, lighting, and ceiling tiles
• Refresh the historic restrooms with new laminate, tiles, and fixtures
• Update our air conditioning system
• Complete masonry repair
• Refresh our dressing rooms and green room (Yes, we have these!)
• Increase our free and reduced-cost programs

Please contribute today and consider choosing one of our fantastic donor recognition gifts, such as a tote bag, limited edition Dan Francis print, or a Fargo Theatre marquee yard sign!

Go to fargotheatre.org/support for more information, and thank you!

New seats were just the beginning. Next up: PIPES and PROJECTORS!

Phase 2 in our ongoing Restoration Project will focus on replacing corroded water pipes and outdated projectors, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

THE PIPES: While we love our historic building, we don’t love the “historic” water pipes. Aged and corroded, the pipes in the basement need to be replaced, which means tearing up a LOT of concrete. Like, a LOT a lot.

THE PROJECTORS: At 13 years old, our digital projectors are pretty “historic” too. Technology has advanced to a point where our original digital projectors are practically vintage. With your help, both Theatre 1 and 2 will be upgraded to state-of-the-art 4K Laser projectors. (Lasers, friends! LASERS.)

We’ve been busy behind the scenes raising funds, but we need your help to close the gap.

Every donation makes a difference! Thank you!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MADE OUR CENTENNIAL WEEKEND SPECIAL!

On Saturday night, our Roaring 20s Soirée was a smashing success, and a big part of the fun was the black and white portrait experience by LUXE Events ND! Our guests got the glam treatment with celebrity-style photos and unlimited prints as a fantastic keepsake for the evening. Huge thanks to Bethany and the team at LUXE Events ND!

On Sunday, March 15th 2026, our Centennial Birthday Celebration honored 100 years of the Fargo Theatre’s history with a fun-filled variety show, echoing our vaudeville roots.

Many thanks to all our patrons who turned out on a cold winter day, to the fantastic organists of the Red River Theatre Organ Society, to the performers and volunteers who made Sunday unforgettable, and to our wonderful sponsor Xcel Energy.

To all those who walked our red carpet, our paparazzi photos can be downloaded at:

Time for a Glow Up!

The first wave of our restoration plans is complete!

NEW SEATS! Historic aesthetic with modern comfort

Yes, that’s right! At long last, new seats have been installed in our historic auditorium!

The new seats honor the Art Deco aesthetic while introducing much-needed modern comfort. That means: thicker padding (cushier cushions!), cupholders on the first floor, wider seats in the balcony, and 9 (yes, NINE!) new and improved ADA spaces so everyone can enjoy the Fargo Theatre.

FRESH PAINT! NEW CARPET!

The fresh paint looks spectacular, especially the elegant gold accents throughout. All colors are true to the original colors from the 1937 remodel. It’s like seeing the Theatre as patrons saw it brand new 100 years ago!

The gorgeous new carpet has been installed and has rich beautiful tones. Come see it for yourself!

We can’t do this without you!

Your support enables us to make these much-needed improvements. Please consider making a donation to our Centennial Capital Campaign today!
